Emotional Obama
Nikki Kahn, Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist for The Washington Post, describes the picture she made of President Obama reflecting on his last campaign in Iowa, the state that started him on the path to become President of the United States of America. Kahn describes how she moved to just the right position to catch a tear on Obama’s cheek. The picture captures a rare emotion for Obama. Photojournalists work on making light, timing and emotion work to make storytelling pictures and Kahn’s picture is a great example.
Kahn is the first Michel du Cille National Press Photographers Foundation Fellow. She traveled to Africa to mentor African journalists.
